| Title | 다윗의 인구조사 다시 읽기: 사무엘하 24장과 역대상 21장을 중심으로 |

| Abstract | 다윗의 인구조사는 구약성경에서 사무엘하 24장과 역대상 21장에서 소개되고 있으며, 일반적으로 그가 하나님 앞에 두 번째 죄를 짓는 행위 로 간주해 왔다. 왜냐하면 인구조사는 군사력을 평가하는 지표가 되기에, 다윗의 행위는 하나님의 주권에 대한 반역으로 여겨질 수 있기 때문이다. 하지만 이 사건은 성경 역사 가운데에서 가장 특이한 사건 중에 하나로 여겨진다. 그 이유는 ‘여호와가 다윗을 자극하여 인구조사를 하게 하였는 데(삼하 24:1), 그 결과 이스라엘이 전염병의 징계를 받는다(삼하 24:15)’ 라는 사건 자체의 설정 때문이다. 더군다나 이 사건의 결말이 여호와의 제단(대상 21:26)과 성전을 위한 장소로 지명(대상 22:1)되면서 끝을 맺고 있기 때문에 더욱 의미심장하다. 즉, 사건의 발단과 그 결말이 상식적 으로 부합되지 않는다. 사무엘하 24장의 문맥은 다윗의 인구조사가 왜 이스라엘의 징계로 이 어지는지에 초점을 두고 있고, 역대상 21장의 문맥은 이 사건이 왜 성전 이 세워지는 장소와 연결되고 있는지에 관여하고 있다. 본 논문은 문맥 의 흐름을 바탕으로 두 부분의 메시지를 통합하여 다윗의 인구조사가 어 떤 신학적 의미가 있는지를 다시 살펴보고자 한다. 결론적으로, 본 논문 은 이 사건이 다윗의 개인적인 범죄(밧세바 사건)를 통하여 실추된 왕권 을 다시 회복하고, 이스라엘 백성들을 하나님의 신정정치로 인도하시는 하나님의 주권적 역사의 도구가 되었음을 주장한다. David's census is introduced in both 2 Samuel 24 and 1 Chronicles 21, and this incident has generally been regarded as David’s second sin in front of God. Because the census is usually a means of demonstrating military strength, David's act can be regarded as being in rebellion against God's sovereignty. However, this event is considered to be one of the most unusual events in biblical history. This is because the consequences of the census are quite discrepant: ‘The Lord stimulated David to take a census (2 Samuel 24:1), and then, as a result, Israel was punished with a plague (2 Samuel 24:15)’. Moreover, the ending of this event is even more mysterious because it concludes with the designation of the site for the Lord's altar (1 Chronicles 21:26) and then, the one for the temple (1 Chronicles 22:1). In other words, the beginning and the end of the event do not coincide with common sense. The context of 2 Samuel 24 focuses on why David's census leads to Israel's discipline, while the context of 1 Chronicles 21 concerns why this event is related to the place where the temple will be built. This paper attempts to review the theological significance of David's census by integrating the messages of the two texts based on their respective contexts. In summary, this thesis asserts that this incident became a tool of God's sovereign work to restore the kingship that had been lost through David's personal crime (the Bathsheba incident), and to lead the people of Israel into God's theocracy. |
