Title 하박국 2장 2절에서 "달려가면서도 읽을 수 있게 하라"의 의미

Abstract 하나님의 메시지를 전달하기 위해 쓰여진 선지서는 그 목적에 충실하기 위해 하나님의 의도를 포함한 많은 상징적인 이야기를 가지고 있다. 그러므로 선지서의 독자가 하나님의 말씀을 철저하고 정확하게 이해할 수 있도록 이러한 상징적인 이야기를 그 의도대로 해석하는 일은 매우 중요하다.
이 글의 목적은 이러한 상징적인 이야기 중 하나인 하박국 2:2의 의미를 밝히고 재해석하는데 있다. 특히 하박국 2:2의 ‘Ab arEAq #Wry" ![;m;l.’라는 문구는 많은 학자에 의해 여러 가지 의미로 해석되는데, 필자는 문자적인 표면적 의미보다는 깊은 상징적인 의미가 있을 것이라 주장한다. 필자의 주장을 증명하기 위해, 먼저 의미를 확정하기 어려운 동사인 ‘달리다’의 성경 안에서 용례를 분석하고, 학자들의 이 구절에 대한 견해와 번역본들의 해석을 살핀다. 또한, 하박국 2:2 자체와 2:2-4까지의 문학적 구조를 검토하며 여러 단어와의 관계를 통하여 모호한 단어의 의미를 확정한다. 본 연구는 내레이터가 어떤 의미를 전달할 때, 특별히 상징적 행동을 표현하는 본문에서, 단어 하나하나의 선택에 얼마나 신중했으며, 독자도 그것을 이해하려 할 때 내레이터 처럼 신중해야 함을 보여준다. 궁극적으로, 하박국 2:2에 등장하는 그가 그때 왜 달려야만했는지 이해하게 해준다.

The prophetic books have many symbolic stories conveying God’s intentions, since the prophets must convey God’s message. Therefore, the interpretation of symbolic stories is very important for the thorough and correct understanding of God’s word.
This study aims to reveal and to reinterpret the meaning of Habakkuk 2:2, which contains one of these symbolic actions in the prophetic books. The phrase Ab arEAq #Wry" ![;m;l. in Habakkuk 2:2 is interpreted by many scholars in various ways. I contend that the phrase has a deeper symbolic meaning rather than a literal meaning. In order to prove this point, firstly, I analyze the usage of the verb, ‘to run’ in the Bible, and consult the works of previous scholars. Finally, I investigate the literary structure of Habakkuk 2:2 itself and Habakkuk 2:2-4, and confirm its symbolic significance with the relationship among the various words in this literary unit. This study shows that the narrator is very careful to choose certain words when he delivers God’s message to the reader, especially when expressing symbolic actions, and that the reader must be as careful as the narrator when trying to understand it. Ultimately this study allows us to comprehend why the runner in Habakkuk 2:2 must run at that time.
