| Title | 요나의 기도(욘 1:17-2:10), 그리고 그 기능과 역할 |

| Abstract | 요나서는 짧지만 많은 논쟁을 야기한다. 그 중에서도 요나의 기도(욘 1:17-2:10)는 문제의 중심에 있다. 먼저 제기되는 질문은 요나의 기도가 처음부터 요나서에 속해 있었느냐 아니면 후대에 삽입된 본문이냐에 대한 것이다. 비록 요나서 2장은 시로 기록되었고, 나머지 1:3-4장은 산문으로 기록되었지만, 그렇다고 요나서 2장을 요나서에서 분리할 필요는 없어 보인다. 현재의 형태와 구조가 요나서를 이해하는데 가장 적합하다고 본다. 또한 요나의 기도의 장르에 대해서도 탄원이나 탄원시보다는 개인 감사시로 보는 것이 적절하다. 내용면에서 보자면 니느웨에서의 요나의 모습(3-4장)이 여전히 하나님께 저항하는 요나와 더 어울리기에 감사보다는 탄원에 더 가까워 보이는 것이 사실이다. 하지만 2장 자체의 형식과 내용은 요나의 기도가 감사시임을 명확하게 보여준다. 게다가 요나의 기도를 감사시로 볼 때 요나의 기도는 요나서 전체에서 요나의 편협하고, 고집 센 특징을 더욱 강조하는 역할과 기능을 하게 된다. 자신의 구원에는 감사하지만, 이방 니느웨 사람들에게는 엄격한 요나의 모습은 그 자체로 모순이자 역설로 보인다. 동시에 이러한 요나에게 사명을 맡기고, 그에게 하나님의 자비와 사랑을 보여주고자 하시는 하나님의 열심도 더욱 강조된다. 본 연구자는 요나서 2장의 기록목적과 의미, 그리고 요나서 전체에서 역할과 기능을 보여주고자 했다. 그러기 위해서 먼저 요나서 전체의 구조와 내용을 간략하게 스케치했다. 그 후에 요나서 2장을 주해하고, 분석함으로 요나의 기도의 내용과 구조, 그리고 장르에 대해서 확인했다. 마지막으로 요나의 기도가 요나서 전체에서 어떻게 작동하고 있는지 그 기능과 역할에 대해서 살펴봤다. 본 연구를 위해서 통시적인 접근보다는 공시적 접근 방법인 최종 본문을 중심으로 연구를 진행했다. The book of Jonah is short, but it generates a lot of controversies. The Prayer of Jonah (Jonah 1:17-2:10) is at the center of the issue. The first question that arises is whether Jonah's prayer was part of the book of Jonah from the beginning, or whether it was a later insertion. Although Jonah 2 was written as a poem, and the rest of 1, 3-4 as prose, it does not seem necessary to separate Jonah 2 from Jonah. The current form and structure are best suited to the understanding of the book of Jonah, and the genre of Jonah's prayer is best understood as a personal thanksgiving rather than a lamentation. In terms of content, Jonah's appearance in Nineveh (chapters 3-4) is more of a lament than a thanksgiving, because this is still Jonah in opposition to God. However, the form and content of chapter 2 itself make it clear that Jonah's prayer is a poem of thanksgiving. Furthermore, reading Jonah's prayer as a prayer of thanksgiving helps to further emphasize Jonah's narrow-minded and stubborn character throughout the book of Jonah. The image of Jonah as grateful for his own salvation, but strict with the gentile Ninevites, seems to be a contradiction and paradox in and of itself. At the same time, it emphasizes God's eagerness to entrust Jonah with a mission and to show him God's mercy and love. This study seeks to show the purpose and meaning of Jonah 2 and its role and function in the whole book of Jonah. To do so, first I sketch the structure and content of the whole book of Jonah. Then I exegete and analyse Jonah 2 to identify the content, structure, and genre of Jonah's prayer. Finally, I examine the function and role of Jonah's prayer in the context of the entire book of Jonah. For the purpose of this study, I focus on the final text, which is a synchronic approach rather than a diachronic approach. |
