| Abstract | 본 논문은 욥기 해석에 있어 엘리바스 비전(욥 4:12-21)의 중요성을 주장한다. 흔히 사탄이 욥기 1-2장에서 욥에게 고난을 가한 뒤 무대에 서 사라진다고 생각하지만, 사탄은 광명의 천사로 둔갑하여 엘리바스 의 비전(욥 4:12-21) 가운데 재등장한다. 하나님 또는 천사로부터 계시가 임했다 믿는 엘리바스는 이 영적 존재의 메시지에 기반하여 욥을정죄하고 회개를 촉구한다. 다른 친구들 및 엘리후 역시 엘리바스의 비 전에 근간하여 욥을 동일하게 정죄하고 권면한다. 엘리바스 비전(욥 4:12-21)의 중요성은 세 가지 논의에서 더 구체화 된다. 첫째, 엘리바스의 비전은 친구들의 세 대화 주기(욥 4-25장) 및 엘리후 연설(욥 32-37장) 전체를 감싸며 욥기 구조의 핵심 골격을 형 성한다. 둘째, 비전의 메시지는 보응신학을 지지하며 욥의 고난이 숨겨 진 죄 때문이라 정죄할 수 있는 발판이 된다. 마지막으로, 엘리바스에게 계시를 전해준 주체가 하나님 또는 천사가 아닌 사탄임을 입증하는 8 가지 증거가 이 해석을 지지한다. This article is a summary of some of the main arguments of my dissertation entitled The Identity of the Spirit in Eliphaz's Vision (Job 4:12-21) and Its Significance in Understanding the Book of Job (PhD diss., Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2017). Many think that Satan disappears for good after afflicting Job in Job 1-2. A careful exegesis, however, suggests that Satan, disguised, returns as an unidentified spirit of Eliphaz's vision (4:12-21), delivering a subversive message to Eliphaz and friends. Taking the message to be an authoritative revelation, Eliphaz condemns Job as a sinner and asks him to repent. Other friends and Elihu, likewise, follow the lead and request Job to repent. The content of this article is three folds. First, this paper presents how Eliphaz's vision appears and reappears in the dialogues of the friends and Elihu, framing the whole speech cycles. Second, it discusses how the vision's message is arranged and used to support the doctrine of retribution. Third, the article provides eight evidences that demonstrate the spirit of Eliphaz's vision is not God nor angel, but Satan. |
